What are the benefits of working with a coach?
- You'll set a clear agenda with specific action steps.
- You'll learn more about yourself and what'’s important to you.
- You'll learn how to identify and use your own creativity and strengths more fully.
- You'll recognize and learn how to eliminate the negative beliefs that are holding you back.
- You'll learn how to build and use connections with others to benefit you both.
- You'll have the support and encouragement of your coach to keep yourself motivated.
- You'll learn strategies and techniques for overcoming roadblocks.
- You'll be accountable to someone other than yourself to help you reach your goal.
How do I know if I'm ready to benefit from coaching?
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I ready to make change a priority in my life by committing time and effort to it?
- Am I ready to let go of the things that don't work for me?
- Can I be honest with myself and with my coach?
- Am I ready to believe in myself and my ability to make change happen?
- Am I ready to adopt a more positive outlook on life?
- Am I ready to be accountable for my decisions and my actions?
- Am I ready to try new things that may feel uncomfortable at first?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, and your feelings of excitement outweigh your feelings of fear, you're a good candidate for coaching.
HOW LONG DOES A COACHING RELATIONSHIP LAST?
Change doesn't happen overnight. The coaching process has many facets and has the power to affect many aspects of your life, from how you think about yourself and your values, to how you learn, evaluate your options, make your decisions, and keep yourself motivated and on track until you have met your goals. Coaching at its best equips you to meet bigger challenges and live a "deeper" life. So depending on what you want to accomplish, it's important to give coaching the time necessary for it to work for you.
Ideally, we would start with a minimum commitment of three months (a total of 12 sessions). However, you may choose some other arrangement, depending on your circumstances and the kind of change you want to make (see Coaching Plans and Fees). On average, the client-coach relationship can span between nine months and two years.
During our relationship, we can design and adjust the length and frequency of your sessions in any way that works for you. Usually we start with weekly sessions of 45 minutes, 4 times per month. These sessions are conducted by phone, unless you live in the Nashua area and prefer in-person sessions I also offer email and phone access for questions or feedback outside of scheduled sessions.
